Through Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, RCC aspires to…

GATHER

  • to connect and experience community (Ps. 133:1; Jn. 17:23)
  • to heal, strengthen, and grow through instruction and love (Eph. 2:21-22; 4:12; 1 Thess. 5:11; 1 Tim. 1:5; 1 Jn. 3:11)
  • to pool our resources and energies for efforts that require it (2 Cor. 8:1-14; 9:12)
  • to know God for who He truly is, so we can share that knowledge with others (Jn. 17:3; 2 Pet. 1:1ff; 3:18; 1 Jn. 1:5-7)
  • as a safe place to doubt, ask questions, and wrestle with important matters without fear of rejection or ridicule (Gen. 32:28; Matt. 11:1-7; 1 Tim. 1:5; 6:12; Jas. 1:5)

SCATTER

  • for the benefit of the world (Lk. 24:47; 2 Cor. 5:20)
  • to represent God in all we do (Matt. 5:16; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:15, 20)
  • to be church as a people, not a place (Rom. 16:5; 1 Cor. 16:19)
  • to live authentically and vulnerably, refusing to pretend (Rom. 12:9; 1 Cor. 4:4-5)
  • to be inclusive not exclusive (Acts 10:34-35; 17:25-27; 1 Jn. 2:2)
  • to treat every human being as enough and worthy of love (Gen. 1:26; Jn. 3:16)
  • staying engaged and connected with the hurting and disengaged
  • to be the change we wish to see in the world (Rom. 12:1-2)
  • to enjoy life as flourishing human beings to the glory of God (Ecc. 2:24-25; 3:12-13; 5:18-19; 9:7; 1 Tim. 6:17)
